People used to say in the UK that they had a tiger in their tank Victoria, and probably still do, and it’s true. JS

As i have said Den, my cousin lives in Comox, and the other thing she says to be very aware of is the bears, they are just at the back of her property, and says she has to be very wary especially when the bear has cubs. On this island we have red squirrels, but they don't frighten me lol

Just some info on Cougars. They mainly feed on Deer, but will eat anything, including domestic cats.
Several school children have been killed by them over the years.
They have also attacted fully grown adults.
They attack from behind.
So next thing you know is it has you by the back of your neck.
Not much you can do after that, as their claws come into action.
Vancouver Island has the biggest population of Cougars in Canada.

Hi Keith,
I have bears on my property all the time. No problem, other than the odd fence knocked down, and branches from my fruit trees. Black bears don't look on us as food. Cougars do.

Hi Victoria.
There have been reports of big black cats all over Aus, there was supposed to be one up where Vernon lives, personally I think they are big feral cats, as there is nothing in Aboriginal folklore about any .

Re: Cougar. Video taken just down from my place.
We had a Cougar in our town for some time.
About 50 or so, long legs and too muck lippy.
But some of the guy thought she was good, to a point.
Used to get in the bar Friday night to see what she could pick up.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Regarding big cats, I saw somewhere that there are now more tigers kept as pets in private homes than there are in the wild.
Regarding cougars, Thursday nights in the La Strada in Shields you took put your body in danger from all the cougars prowling the place looking for fresh meat.
