Re: Visa credit card
A number of companies here will not use American Express due to the time it takes for funds to be transfered.
Not sure about the not showing numbers on debit cards, never heard that one before.
But the credit card gives me for $114 per year all the travel insurance we need, go to a travel agent and it would cost twice that much for one trip.
Get points with the CC which my wife uses to buy her make up.
All CC are good if you use them wisely.
But here in Oz it has been estimated there is about $2billion in bank notes in use or stored somewhere in piggy banks, under the bed or other places.
The amount has doubled since the virus hit.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Likewise Graham, I use mainly at Costco and get cash back off them as well, add cheap fuel into the mix = bargain

Our bank says Debit cards are the go now and they say safer than credit cards as the account number isn't on the card like it is on credit cards.
We have a credit card but rarely use it, a back up. Just a small annual fee we still have the original credit limit on it, very small not worth anyone trying to use it as they wouldn't get far. LOL
Only use my debit card. No worries, no problems.

Re: Visa credit card
You don’t get charged interest for eftpos though do you ? That is cash and not borrowed money. When the time comes when they don’t accept cash for buying a newspaper and have to use a card , will be time to give up newspapers altogether , and just phone up the funeral parlours to find out who has left this weird world we live in. Re: Visa credit card
#19. My wife when she does her weekly shopping pays by Eftpos and at the same time draws out from the cashiers till what she wants for the week. This all due to the banks taking the machines away. Have to go miles to find a bank machine. Same in banks a lack of staff is very noticeable. Only advantage to a bank today is the security of the actual cash itself , there is little or no interest on money. If everyone took their money out there would be no reason for their existence.JS

Re: Visa credit card
Using a card is fine as long as you keep up to date with what you have spent.
Many do not and get caught out with less than they thought they had.
In USA I have a cousin and in his town they banned all cash sale some years ago, all card only.
Now no robberies or hold ups.
But be it credit or debit card, used correctly no worries mate.
