Re: U.K., USA and Australia
What a wonderful world it would it be if the US, Australia and UK were to combine forces and spend billions to defeat cancer, Alzheimer and dementia instead of more weapons of mass destruction. I had hope that the election of Joe Biden would signal a change in US foreign policy, that hope is now fading. Anti Chinese propaganda is being whipped up in the west and it is disappointing to see so many falling for it. It is noticeable that all the western multi national companies who transferred production to China to take advantage of the cheap labour there have not been advised to close their factories and bring back production to home countries.
One important part of the US / Australia nuclear subs deal has not been mentioned. There will be an increased military presence of US troops stationed in Australia. The US has military bases in 200 countries of the world.

#45 Rumour has it that Joan of Arc was the best soldier the French ever had. Bonaparte doesn’t even come into the running as he was a Corsican. JS
Re: U.K., USA and Australia
I would have thought Jacques de Molay was the best soldier France ever had, he to suffering the same fate as Joan of Arc being burned at the stake.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
Apparently, Defence minister Peter Dutton confirmed Australia will consider consider leasing nuclear submarines
from US in the interim while waiting for new ones to be built while it waits up to two decades for new fleet to be
built with help from Britain and the US.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
To put it all into perspective one only has to remember that in May we have an election and it seems that this deal has another eighteen months to finalise so go figure. Our scotty from marketing is pulling the same old trick. What is going to happen is we will lease the subs second hand and find some crap reason to cancel this order as well especially if they win the election. Another thought is that the future crew for these subs have not even started school yet so how advanced will they be in twenty years. Not to mention telling everyone to be good for twenty years while we do this. It is a fecking joke.

Marion. All benefited from these arrangements, the Chancellors at our universities are weeping huge tears at the loss of Chinese students, it was what kept them viable and open, the kerchunk of the tills have all gone silent.

Hi Les.
Good to see you posting, as you say the add man is due an election in May next year, he has so much running against him he has to pull something. When the Collins class subs where running [They have disappeared of the screen] they were struggling to get crews, do they think that they will get young people to man these nuclear subs? Our farmers can't get anyone to cut and stow their crops, a former colonel in the Aus army has come up with a scheme to recruit former soldiers to do it, he got 1,600 in a week who are ready to go, as they only need to learn to drive wheat cutters etc easy peasy, our add man is so out of touch with Australia he doesn't give a stuff.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
This goes far deeper than most consider.
The USA approached Oz in the begining concerned with the actions of China in the South Seas.
USA needs allies in this part of the world to ensure the region is not overtaken by China, something that could easily occur'
Combined with the mad man of North Korea there is a need for stability in the arms capacity of the region.
Yes we could well spend the money on food and medical advancement for the poorer nations, but that could spell disaster for the West.
Feed and heal some of the poorer nations and they become physically strong, then politically strong, China takes them under their wing and big problems for the West.
As to our next feral erection next year, we have a choice, the current lot with some form of progress in protecting the nation, or a bunch of old hacks thaahave been around to long. The best one of them not standing next time, says al ot about how he thinks about it all.
Re: U.K., USA and Australia
now we have the french stirring the s..t against the UK over all this do they still think we are in the EU club and see us as whipping boys again? jp
