Re: U.K., USA and Australia
There has been a lot of change over the years one common denominate, The U.S.A. The Brits and the Aussies, Can and have for years seen China grow bigger and stronger by the day, Something had to be done and i believe Brexit gave the 3 countries the green light. And in any case why should it worry China, Or have we struck a note that they dont like because it may affect there own itinerary. We have the little North Korean dough boy firing rockets into the sea of Japan, Putin likes to show his hand in the recent Military exercises, And as we all no China is the biggest superpower in the world at present. As for the rest of the E.U. Countries France in particular before there citizens start crossing the channel in dinghies let them sink or swim, We could never call them real allies of ours. The thing Britain has to do before entering this alliance with the USA and Australia is close our boarders and by that i mean stop paying Shammmmmy Leathuuuure the frog and anyone else get a statesman into parliament a real prime minister that has backbone and is prepared to ride rough shot for the good of the 3 nations involved then we will see who rules the waves. Terry.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
Whilst the Chinks have more man power, they haven't got the same knowledge of fighting battles that we have. They didn't do that good in Korea against us, did they?

Lewis. I don't know if you have been following this but India and China have been in conflict along their border since the late 1950's. Both nuclear powers but an agreement to have no arms in the area. The latest flare-up with clubs and such, resulted in India suffering twenty deaths, the Chinese never released any figures. A report indicates the Chinese army has now stepped up training in unarmed combat.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
Not going to get to far in to this, can guess on an ending.
Just wondered if anyone saw it all coming, like Nostradamus.
As said, just wondered.
K.
Added: People who were terrified of being part of a European army delighted to be part of a US/Australian navy...?
LOL.

#21, read and digest the information, not what you think or thought what you read, no one has suggested forming an Army.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
It’s all swings and roundabouts , there will always be national pride , all you have to do is look at the frenzy attached to international soccer and other sport. Which is more like a modern version of the ancient gladiators. Going back 75 years China were our allies , going back a bit longer in time to the Crimean war the U.S. were allies of Russia. The causes of war are mainly political and not caused by the working population. I have absolutely nothing against the Chinese people or any other people for that . They probably get the same false messages from their leaders as we do mainly through our media, As regards the working people of China , like a lot of seamen have had Occassion to work with them up close and personal and see absolutely no reason why the media has to report the news in the context they do, they only add to people’s imagination and cause further mischief. Re: U.K., USA and Australia
Facts. Australia dropped its contract with France worth around $90 billion in order to buy nuclear operated subs from the US, for our preacher PM to look like the statesman he is not, it will cost Australia over $2billion in penalties, and thousands of jobs in South Aus as they were part of the building contract with France, the subs wouldn't have been delivered until 2050. Now with no price given but sure to be in the hundred $billion mark we are to have nuclear subs from the States, and I might add with the backing of the Labour Party. NZ has already signalled that the subs will not be allowed to berth in that country, and Indonesia telling our preacher that they don't want South East Asia in a nuclear arms race. With China our biggest trading partner now dropping off buying iron ore and coal from Aus, the amount now already half of what they bought four months ago, I wonder how we are going to pay for all this hardware.
One thing does puzzle me, how so many, who, like myself suffered in the last war now seem to embrace the idea of a conflict with China.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
Some people revel in the rituals of marching bands , parades of soldiers and the singing of ritual supposedly victory’s of the battle field. Most have never seen the sight of blood and a shot fired in anger , and is all in their imagination. If they saw the carnage and loss of lives and limbs wonder if they would still feel the same way ? They shouldn’t be allowed any what they consider toys above the lead soldiers they treasured in their childhood.. JS

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
What many fail to understand here is that it is not the gov making the changes, it is the ministry of defence.
Like all departments it is the constant factor in any gov, govs come and go but the public service, the ones who actually run the nation are constant.
The PM is only the window dressing in nay such matter.
The French deal was a bummer, by the time they arrived they would be extinct and of little use.
China, along with India will within a few short years be the dominant countries.
Lewis mate, numbers.
China 1.4 billion. India now 1.5. USA 335 million. UK 75 million. Oz 25.7 million.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: U.K., USA and Australia
#30 The earths peoples haven’t so long been out of serfdom themselves Victoria, and some still are in the same situation as they were hundreds of years ago. Mankind started its history as survival of the fittest , and different nations have advanced at different speeds and with different intelligent levels and a lot still think of this at the old level. The world has a long way to go for mankind to be properly civilised . That is if they ever learn to survive in each other’s company till then. China is one of the oldest if not the oldest on earth and has a very mixed up and fiery past , and old habits are the hardest to overcome. We are all egoists and think we are correct , but the first thing to learn is how we appear to others , they have as much right as we have in their own eyes. JS
