Re: Has Australia gon Loopy?
This must be the most appropriate place to put this as against memories. My first 2 teachings on ship etiquette was 68 years ago and it has always resided somewhere in my few remaining brain cells. The first was when I was informed by a knarled old AB who said “ son there is no such thing as string on board a ship “ , was maybe the first thing told to him also. The other was by the saloon steward who put me off completely entering the saloon in future occasions when he said tea plates did also not exist on a ship , at least in the saloon they didn’t they were called side plates. So anyone wearing a string vest on a ship was to all accounts wearing a twine or rope yarn vest, and tea was never served on a ship it was breakfast lunch or dinner. There was plenty more to learn apart from knots and splices ! Oh and another one was apart from whistling you never ran on a ship, I broke this rule a few times but was never logged for it . Cheers JS.

I see quite a few shark attacks happening now as they are protected these days so must prefer human meat, easier to get and a delicacy perhaps? LOL
Hi Victoria.
That's why cattle look at you when you come into the paddock, if they see some feed they come over, if not they run.

Re: Has Australia gon Loopy?
John, never run at sea.
Who ever wrote that never sailed with UCL.
But tea is served at sea in first class, every day at 1600 hours, very posh affair with Tab Nabs, not the Den style, real ones served up.
all very splendid with the ladies doing their best to out do the others.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
