Default Did the BBC break the Official Secrets Act?

It's been all over the news that an Mod Official lost his briefcase with Mod papers marked top secret.
For reasons unknown the person who found them handed them to the BBC.
The BBC in its infinitive wisdom, choose to broadcast and show images of the documents on TV.
Is the BBC now guilty of breaching the Official Secrets and will individuals be punished for breaching the Act?

Is the BBC or has the BBC signed up to observe British interests under the Official Secrets Act. Common sense says they should be, but commonsense is sadly lacking in lots of govt. depts. Any true. British citizen finding such would hand them in to the MOD they would probably then be told there was an M notice on same and they came under the OSA as to the documents contents. The laws like a lot of laws do not fit their aims. Whoever was responsible for publishing the contents should have his testicles snipped off like the recent characterisation . JS

The BBC is well known as a left wing organisation. and will do anything to go against the present government

those papers could have been handed into the Gov dept for investigation to find the culprit.
The public and any state enemy need not know the contents.

Lewis, your having a laugh, I say Lewis your having a laugh, BBC impartial, doesn't know the meaning of the word.
Lord Reath, stated that the BBC should be impartial, educate, inform and entertain.
Every BBC newscaster gives their thoughts on what Boris or anyone else in the Government is thinking.
BBC was impartial until call me Tony flooded it with left wing luvvies.
BBC so called comedy shows are full of anti Tory barbs.
Emilly Mathias has had her knuckles rapped a few times for her anti Tory stand.
    Michelle Hussain- Left wing
    Andrew Marr Left wing
    Fiona Bruce- Left wing
Question Time (gave up watching it - so biased).
Even Dr Who (gave up watching it) was making left wing statements.
I am sure that there are many more.

Now Lewis, everyone should not sing from the same hymn sheet, the BBC's remit is unbiased, impartial broadcasting something it fails spectacularly to do.
The Government has on multiple occasions threatened the BBC over its bias, it should be interesting to see the organisation squirming in the next few years as licence is due for renewal.

[QUOTE=Lewis McColl;379767]BBC a left wing organisation , what a laugh, The BBC is supposed to be impartial and routinely criticises both the government and the opposition. Although some personal bias enviably leaks in, the BBC does a reasonable job at remaining impartial and independent.
Think someone needs a good kick up the **** at the MOD never mind the BBC.[/QUOTE
Agree totally what the bloody hell was an idiot who takes the bus to work doing with these so called top secret papers in the first place, This isn't the first time secret papers belonging to a government office have been left on public transport, Whoever put there trust in this idiot and the number 9 bus want a good standing down. Scotland and Northern Ireland have always and still do suffer sectarianism. Most members of these world wide sectarian organisations sing from the same hymn book (the sectarian hymn book).

    Regards from,
    Fouro.
