The Woke Society is alive and kicking.
Oxford University are reviewing the use of imperial measurements because of their link to the British Empire.
The university's maths, physics and life sciences has suggested that the that the measurements may have to change as part of decolonisation project.
Wonder what measurements they will use, metrication with its links to France's imperial past.
obviously the lecturers have to much time on there hands if they can think up such ridiculous ideas.

Our sons and daughters are spending 3-4 years, and heavy debts to listen to that dribble ?, thank goodness my sons were through the system 30 years ago, when a degree was worth something, and had to manage on a grant as is was then, good lesson to learn, money management, kt

On first appearances the same appears to be happening in other spheres of learning Keith. it may be just me but before I retired and sailing with some of the younger generation they seemed to have very little affinity with their duties and their profession. This went right through the seagoing life. It can only get worse as soon it will be the blind leading the blind as all the good teachers and instructors disappear off the face of the planet. And all that is left is the modern version taught by some who know no better. JS

france not only has an Imperial Colonial past, it has an Imperial Colonial present.

Its HOLD on the people of Polynesia is Disgraceful.
They are destroying a lovely peaceful race of South Sea Islanders.
All their Sacred lands have been confiscated and turned into housing estates for french settlers. Some Islands have had a vote for independence or not, it was where there are more french settlers than Polynesians.

They are heavily Taxed, the money going back to france.
The Polynesian language has been banned, and is NOT allowed to be taught in schools., English Language that was taught in schools is also Banned.

They have been trying to get Independence for years, every time they protest the send in the Military to crack the skulls of the protesters.

france is an EVIL Dictatorship over these lovely people who just want to be left alone.
france should be used as a Nuclear testing ground. a nation of bullies

People should be banned from going to france, it just encourages them,

education or the lack of it was the subject yesterday, this morning my son phoned me and began to tell me the tale of some young lads from where i grew up in bootle merseyside, it seems the police helicopter was landed in the derby park in bootle, and it seems the pilot and co-pilot left the helicopter to check on something and whilst they where away from the helicopter some young lads got into it and started to fly it in the park, he told me to go and watch it on youtube as a passerby had filmed it and put it on youtube, i asked my son how was that even possible, without any tuition or training, and he said, that these lads spend hours indeed days at a time playing games with remote controls on their computers and they would have worked out how to handle it in minuets, well i watched the clip, and you can actually see whoever is flying it that they are firstly in control of it and in minuets are flying it, all in a park strewn with trees, the mind boggles,
there is at the moment no official media footage, most likely because the police do not want anybody to know about it, but go to youtube check lads flying police helicopter in bootle merseyside,But the lads have been arrested and charged with believe it or not, no insurance,

What about no driving licence . Maybe the police did not complete their Cadetship or more likely the author was just trying to stir it up. Cheers JS

no worries on the licence, it seems they bought one through one of cappys retail outlets, its called ( On the run )
well john the youtube clip is both genuine and honest, and shows the helicopter hovering above ground and flown around the small wooded copse, the person taking the clip was a women i believe and her little daughter is in full view trying to get a better look ,

Sorry I can't remember how to post a new thread. I just found a photo on Google by looking up my husband's name (Stan Grinham) and discovered he was on the Turakina in 1963. If there is anyone here who remembers him. Am looking for photos and stories. Even naughty ones. The photo I found was of Tony C and Stan. Posted by Tony. Thank you.
