    Hi John,
Over here the Newfies are rated like poor old Paddy is every where else.
In fact some of my friends are from Newfoundland.
Must admit, they are very much like the Irish.
    The best mates ever.

What about Nova Scotia then, Cornerbrook? every one had to fight the women off, 9-1 ratio during the week and 12-1 at weekends, everyone was worn out when we sailed from there.

Hi Tony, I did an eight month trip out of Cornerbrook on the Sarah Bowater.
Down the east coast of the US with news print.
Back then Cornerbrook was a small town.
    Only had two Mounties.
The locals always knew when they were out of town.
I had a girl there, her father made Screech.
    What a deal.
Had a few coldish night up against a snow bank.
    Enough said.
    Den.

Just talking about small Towns , like here Dennis small Village quaint though with lots of Visitors n Weekends, but the point here is there was only one Cop when we moved here 11 Years ago now, and walla! Not one now! Police Station is closed although there is a call Monitor on the Door to contact someone if necessary! Has not been any major incidents here for Years, but just last Week funny enough the Cops from Katoomba came a rushing i hear to raid a House just up the Road from us, and siezed many Stolen Items ( not from around here) plus Drugs and a few Weapons! So Sleepy Hollow has ben awoken !! LOL
    Cheers

Nothing like cold Turkey Dennis ! LOL

The modern world has caught up with you Vernon. Gone for ever your days of bliss and contentment. Bet most of those villains were also of the imported variety. JS..

I had Occassion once more to go to the local hospital out patients 2 days ago as had severe pains in the lumber regions. Sat there for 4 hours waiting to see someone. When finally did it was for 3 minutes to prove nothing was broken. However those 4 hours sitting there was an enlightenment on the variety of people who comprised the crowded waiting room. There are some funny looking people , and others maybe thought the Same of me, but I spotted at least 3 obvious drug users , probably there for a fix, alcoholics , and many misshapen people and kids, makes you realize what a motley crew people mostly are , and not very appealing to look at. Today am going for a body scan , and expect will have to pay for, so may thin down the more poorer ones. I feel sorry and proud of the people who have to attend to all those in dire straits , they must see sights we can only imagine , on a daily basis. JS

Yes i reckon so JS but still very quiet most all the time here,as we live a bit from the actual Village , so keeps the Traffic away, at night its like a Morgue mate! Not a sound, no Cars passing nothing! So all is still not too bad! Yet!!!!
    Cheers

Next move if things get hectic is to the real Bush mate! A place like my Son in Law has bought for their getaway Weekends out at Mudgee , also away from Town about 39 km out , very remote lovely little small holding with a large Caravan with built on Annex which makes for plenty of room even for Visitors. He had Built a nice Outside Loo with Shower and made a grand Kitchen and Lounge too. Good size Deck as well.
Yes thats what i would like in the end. Way out way way out! LOL

And true too. The name of the Holding

"Nowhere Hill" It has a nice large Hill on the back of the Property, good for the Younger ones with their Trail Bikes go screeching up and down, they love it!
    Cheers

#17 Most where we now reside have their caravans and boats and spend as much time away as they do here. We have no real wish to roam anymore as have other interests which we can now resume as the freedom of mixing with group meetings is relaxed and will soon be back to normal hopefully. I had 50 years of seeing the world and in a lot of cases it wasn’t as pretty as the travel brochures make it out to be., my better half has no wish thankfully to want to jump on ships and also see , there are still places in Australia she hasn’t seen which she would be more interested in. We are finally in the position which can now do ,once this belligerent germ is out of the way. Cheers JS

Lewis #18, we is now all clean, no more convicts here you know.

But in the Emergency department of a local hospital one night a few years ago, what a sight.
Two cops on duty 24/7 and just about all kind of crims, lost souls, druggies, alkies and any other kind of human kind was there.
Many will wait for up to ten hours to see a doc, not the best place to be and when you see a guy handcuffed in only his jocks with two cops you know it is going to be a bad night for all.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.
