Rodders, my comment came from a friend who goes there each year, his daughter is married to a local.

Some of the stories they tell him are beyond belief and they claim to be sane.
But he said his daughter, since this last BLM bit is seriously considering returning to Oz, they do not like what is occuring there.

The main problem with Trump is that he does not fit in.
Not a career politician so not one of the 'club' more of a business man though some of his tactics at time are odd.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I know that this is the American peoples choice , but it is VERY important to the rest of us, the old saying *America sneezes, the rest of the world catch cold * is very true, so decisions he makes could easily affect all of us, and this guy is up his own ar**, takes no advice from anyone it seems, only those that agree with him, dangerous combination in my opinion for what its worth, kt

Johnno. re. #12 "The main problem with Trump is that he does not fit in.
Not a career politician so not one of the 'club' more of a business man though some of his tactics at time are odd."

As I said, he is well known in the tri-State area (New York (NY), Connecticut (CT) and New Jersey (NJ). He is not a good businessman and never was. He lies and states his father gave him a million dollars and HE turned it into the eight billion HE claims to have today. His father left him four hundred and thirty million dollars according to most sources, included are family members.

At his peak he operated three casinos in Atlantic City NJ. As an owner, the house gets a piece of the action of every dollar that is gambled. The house cannot lose, but Trump managed to lose.

If you have seen the hotels in Las Vegas, or googled them, they are crass to the extreme and huge. The MGM Grand has 5000 rooms. They do not build these monsters by loosing. But Trump managed to lose.

Donald Trump went bust, belly-up. He also started an airline, Trump air and went bust.

He owed huge amounts to the large banks and they were scared he would declare bankruptcy (twice) and walk away from what he owed, so they bailed him out with huge loans and poured new money in after bad. Hoping they would one day recover outstanding debts, or write the debt down over years and retire the debt that way.

As to the eight billion, nobody knows, because Trump is the first president that has refused to release his tax forms and financial data.

There are numerous articles written about how he would hire small sub-contractors to work on his buildings and he would withhold payment and force them to take him to court to try a recover their money. They would win, but he would appeal to a higher court and force them to burn through money with lawyers and court fees. In the end, before the final court case, he would offer to pay a reduced amount along with conditions of silence. Many of them had to end up bankrupts.

Why do you think he lost NYC (Manhattan) NY, CT, and NJ. Because, everybody there knew him and his scandals with women, business ventures, etc..

The people in other States didn't know him, they were just tired of the same old run of political hacks...That was how Obama ran, nobody knew him he was a fresh face. Clinton was just a small state governor, he won the same way. Hillary was well known and she lost out to nobody Trump. The voters are tired of the same old same old. That's what worries me about Biden.

Ps. Yet another book is coming out next week, a tell-all about his relationship with his father, how he paid a friend to take his entrance exams to Uni. and other juicy bits, written by his niece. He's tried to stop its release, but lost today, so the book will be on sale next week.

That's enough! If you still think he's good Johnno, then you can understand why I am worried about the next election, hoping for a landslide against him , but scared that no matter what come out about him it will be believed it's "Fake news."

    Cheers cobber, Rodders.

    Hi All,
At the moment I am too angry to post a reasonable reply, I shall do so when my emotions do not dictate my response.

My wife and I have a game we play, called; which one. When Trump comes on TV we study his face; there are definitely two of them, one the hair and age is slightly different from the other.

Rodders, from what I know of it the Chapter eleven bankruptcy laws allow for some very odd outcomes.
    Did he use this method?

Such a touching story I had to put it on site.

On a rainy afternoon, a group of protesters were gathered outside the grocery store handing out pamphlets on the “evils”of America. I politely declined to take one.
There was an elderly woman behind me and a young (20-ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined.
The young protester gently put her hand on the old woman's shoulder and in a patronizing voice said, "Don't you care about the children of Iraq?"
The old woman looked up at her and said: "Honey, my father died in France during World War II, I lost my husband in Korea , and a son in Vietnam All three died so a niave, ignorant, self-centered bimbo like you could have the right to stand here and badmouth our country, and if you touch me again, I'll shove this umbrella up your ass and open it."
    Happy daze John in Oz.

First I erred, President Nixon also refused to release his tax returns. Sorry..

Rather than put those not interested in business finance to sleep explaining the difference between corporate bankruptcy and chapter Eleven, a preliminary taxation tool meant to give someone a chance to reorganize their debt. here's two links if you want a better look at Trump's track record as a "Businessman" and an explanation of Chapter Eleven of the Taxation Code.

    https://www.thoughtco.com/donald-tru...ptcies-4152019

    https://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ug...-11-bankruptcy

    A simplified short cut answer:

President Trump filed for bankruptcy protection six times for 3 Casinos, a hotel in Manhattan, NYC. and two holding companies. His debt load was staggering, but it's reported he was paid millions in salaries and bonuses, and expenses for his "business acumen".

    Cheers, Rodney
