Australian Newspapers
Yesterday’s news that a number of eastern states papers are winding up had caused a lot of layoffs on the job front. I hope all the people laid off is not due to a bad headlines of a few of their reporters , just a few for example. Headlines and sub headlines of various stories of the past.
1 Homicide victims rarely talk to police.
2.Study shows frequent sex enhances pregnancy chances
3. Worker suffers leg pains after 800 lb. ball falls on his head.
4 Starvation can lead to Health Hazards.
5. Man accused of killing lawyer receives a new attorney.
6. Hospitals resort to hiring doctors.
7. Dianna was still alive hours before she died.
8.Statistics show that teen pregnancy drops off significantly after age 25.
9. Girls Schools still offering something special - Head.
Just a few, of many more. I shall definetley miss the crosswords , but even some of them are not what they used to be. JS

Maybe he’s planning on going into politics Des. As regards Mick no comment. JS
PS my letter to the media has been printed into paper today. However there are still people making assumptions on the meaning of the Q flag. I have replied but for the sake of good Order doubt they will print this one . Cheers JS

Re: Australian Newspapers
Going fast like so many other things onto the NET.
But will they be missed?
Possibly as they always told the truth in two areas, the date and price.
Every thing else was open to speculation/

Re: Australian Newspapers
Very true Victoria, how will the local tradies advertise now and what of the land rats who take up about half of our local paper with their housing adverts.

Re: Australian Newspapers
I somehow doubt if any of the 'ladies' or tradies will advertise on site as the cost may well be beyond any profit they may make from adverts.

Re: Australian Newspapers
John, they could offset the advertising cost against tax as a legitimate business expense.

Re: Australian Newspapers
Yes Victoria we saw that on the news today, you are all being let out!!
Well of course having at one time been apneal colony one would consider you are getting time off for good behavior.
Were your hairdressers closed and was the dentists as well?
Our dentists were mainly closed only doing emergency work.
No worries with the hair though.
But Saturday here in Melbourne all hell will be let lose.
Chairman Dan our premier is allowing a 'I can't breathe march', NSW has made theirs illegal, but now the chairman is saying you should not go to it?????????????
The virus is now brining out the pure madness in some.

Re: Australian Newspapers
Victoria, dentures are not so bad.
You are lucky if you still get local papers, ours ceased back in October last year, said to be on line but how many will bother to look?

Re: Australian Newspapers
Your in luck Victoria, they are being pulled out not falling out. In Cooma we have three dentists one who bashes them out, a conventional, and a lovely Swedish /Danish lady, who when I asked her when she was going to start on my tooth said, I'm all done, finished. Unlike my dentist in the Persian Gulf.
