    Default Australian Newspapers

Yesterday’s news that a number of eastern states papers are winding up had caused a lot of layoffs on the job front. I hope all the people laid off is not due to a bad headlines of a few of their reporters , just a few for example. Headlines and sub headlines of various stories of the past.

Just a few, of many more. I shall definetley miss the crosswords , but even some of them are not what they used to be. JS

PS my letter to the media has been printed into paper today. However there are still people making assumptions on the meaning of the Q flag. I have replied but for the sake of good Order doubt they will print this one . Cheers JS

Going fast like so many other things onto the NET.

    But will they be missed?
Possibly as they always told the truth in two areas, the date and price.
Every thing else was open to speculation/

I think the local rags are good for the ads etc.
Cars, cats dogs and your lost grandmother all covered, quite a few hours of fun I've found, maybe just my quirky sense of humour. LOL

Very true Victoria, how will the local tradies advertise now and what of the land rats who take up about half of our local paper with their housing adverts.

True. Amusing that those ladies of the night have ceased their ads, they are quite funny.
The orbits are interesting good to prove that hubby and I are going very well given the birth dates of some of those.
Local council news is good too, something that is quite relevant to us locals that could be overlooked in bigger issues.

I somehow doubt if any of the 'ladies' or tradies will advertise on site as the cost may well be beyond any profit they may make from adverts.

Sorry John but those "ladies" do advertise and regularly too, the virus put a stop to that for now. However as from 3pm tomorrow we are moving to stage 2 easing so now we can drive anywhere in Tassie. Just as well.
My husband had a flat battery after waiting 2 hrs. for me at the dentist ( don't even go there...horrors). The RACT guy said he was having lots of flat battery call outs as we couldn't go far, so with new battery installed we will be fixing that soon.
Maybe those ladies will be coming back soon. LOL

John, they could offset the advertising cost against tax as a legitimate business expense.
