Nice place Dubbo when the Weather is good!
My Daughter and Son In Law bought a small plot there about 18 Months ago on a Hill, nice setup and they use it for Weekends away,i have been up twice and really enjoyed the peace , It is about 15 km out of the main Town and very tranquil. It has a Caravan with a Kitchen and Deck built on to it,several Water Tanks and an outside Shower and Dunny. The Son in Law does a lot each time they go up,so the place is looking good now.
They have named the property "Nowhere Hill" very appropriate!

Got to love Aus mate. Where else would you get. Bushfires, drought, floods, cyclones, and especially while one place was being threatened by fire mega litres of water flooded their homes. All this and a inept government still worshipping coal as a savior.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

    Hi Les.
Just sing along with Scumo "We shall, we shall all be saved." and everything will be OK. All wearing the appropriate caps of course.

But then the leader of the Feral opposition has said,

"We will not be closing coal mines, they bring in revenue for the nation and create jobs".

AS to the dust, similar to the one we had here in Victoria in 1983 when half of Dimboola arrived in the city.
It was followed by Ash Wednesday whe fires burned from the Adelaide hills to Warnambool, about 1,000 klms.

    Just pos of interest;

The RBA could buy Australia's coal mines and dirty power plants as a last resort
to save the environment and the economy

Vernon mate, next time you get a dust storm would you please keep it to your self.
A wind change to the east brought it all to Melbourne, then it rained.
we now have a very brown town.
Spent the morning washing windows and just about every where else to get rid of it, sets like mud in a bit of sun light.

    Can imagine the mess John
Last time i saw and experienced a Dust Storm to match was in South Africa, working on the Gold Mines in the Free State.
I was actually in a place called Kroonstad visiting my old Flame,so we went to the Bioscope small local one, when going in the Weather was so nice and Sunny no wind just right!
It was a Matinee so was due to finish at about 4.30pm

Well the Film finished and we all got up to stand for the Showing of the always end The God Save the Queen,

Then off we went, got to the Main Doors and Wow!! The Skies were a dark Reddish Brown, the Dust was everywhere and the Wind Howling,it was like Night,i must admit i was a bit scared by this site, how do we get home etc etc.

Anyway as fast as it came so it went again, just leaving the Entire Town with a thick Layer of Reddish dust!
And Yes! you guessed it and Down came the Rain full Blast,no need to tell more! It was terrible
    Cheers

Though the World was ending LOL And the poor Girl friend she was petrified!
