Lt Col Colin Campbell Mitchell acquired the nickname "Mad Mitch" after seeking revenge for the deaths of three of his own Argylls whilst they were on a patrol with the Northumberland Fusiliers. All but one of that patrol were shot and killed (eight) when they were ambushed by Aden Police mutineers in the Crater district of Aden.

Sorry misnamed him as Mick. Memory loss is something we all get to at some time. Although there are some things one never forget even going back 66 years and first trip to sea, and the expression on the face of a dead greaser whose face and body had to look at for 8 hours a day for about 4 days , but even him I can’t remember his name today. Cheers JS.

We have some of the worlds toughest gun laws here in Oz.
Yet only last night in a major shopping center six shots were fired at a couple of men.
One injured the other escaped, the gun men are still on the run.

The problem we have is that there will always be a section of society who will live and die by the gun for what ever reason.
They do not care for laws, rules or anything else, all we can do is hope that they keep all the arguments between themselves and not involve nay innocent person.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I think the uk has got the gun laws about right but the people who have illegal guns don't sign up to the same gun laws as those of us who have legal guns

When you think about it a gun on its own doesn't normally kill people it's only when you put a lunatic on the trigger

Whenever anything is banned, it drives that commodity underground be it drugs firearms or women’s cosmetics derived from dead animals. There is a big black market today on drugs, if one wanted rid of all the drug barons all would have to do would be to legalise drugs. However it would be pointless as would finish up with half the country as dope heads. The shortages during the last war showed this, although most of the country was living day to day on lack of nutrician , if you had money was available on the black market. Even though the penalties were much higher than what they would be today . They still existed. Gun laws make a lot of criminals rich. Shootings will still carry on no doubt. Changes in the sale of firearms will not do much more than appease some consciences . JS

Rob, crims do not care about any laws let alone gun ones.
