Just a small memory
Just posting two Pics of a memory of the Cape Town Harbor Cafe around the time i recall, always full there and very well known by all that worked in the Dock Area. Plus many outsiders that went there for the lovely Fish and Chips they served. Oh Boy! That was Fish and Chips!!
Recall having at times to Walk quite long distance from where i worked on any particular Day , depending on what Berth the Ship i was given to Check the Garo being Loaded and off Loaded as a Tally Clerk (Stevedore)
Oh yes those were the days before i went to Sea, but also must say had great times in that good old Harbor!!
Cheers

Re: Just a small memory
Memories of some wonderful times and some very bad care of KWV and various others similar.
But Castle and Lion made up for that.
Still have a dream of another visit there some day

Re: Just a small memory
Hi Vernon
I was in Capetown a couple of times in the 50s, but remember it more when Emigrating to NZ on the Southern Cross in 57
took a bus into the city to do a bit of shopping.

Cape Town, shopping in the OK bazars which I am reliably informed are no more.
Gone the same way as the Tiki Hoc bar and Delmonicos.
Cap[e Town will never be the same again.
