To me the Castle Ships were one of the finest lookers around at that time, there were of course others as well that had great looks.

Loved my time with the UCL had many a good trip and lots of good fun and Mates!!

Southampton and London our Stomping grounds then, oh what good memories!
The Mail Boat runs and the Round Africa ones, which to me were the better of the two. So many more Ports of Excitement to see, and passing through the Suez Canal was one of the Trip Highlights ! Loved it!
    Cheers

#12 I reckon inflation really reared its ugly head and the spivs were at the height of their power when the penny oxo cube ceased to be this was at the intrudence of decilmisation and even if they had carried on calling it the penny oxo cube this would have been inflation at 2.5%. One big con which has carried on ever since. JS

I began my life at sea on her, joined at the start of her third voyage as a white faced 'Bell Boy' in the tourist gallop.
Sea sick by the end of day one, but by Las Palmas was as cocky as any young lad at that age could be.
Never lost my love of the sea.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
