Changed a lot since I last saw it. This is where we would meet up after picketing the Gladstone dock during the 66 strike. Had just enough money for half of lager. The Bootle Arms was on the opposite side of the road, but no dual carriageway there then.

A mere nipper John, fresh out of Belfast, thought I was man of the world lol. It was certainly up there as one of the first lessons as we entered what I will call the University of Life. Still an all if memory serves it was good craic. Funny though I always seemed to be popular with some of the older women I think they wanted to further my education

#6 Louis you were picketing in the wrong port if had been Port Talbot you may of been lucky enough to have met Cindy who would have bought you a pint. Apparently she was a Godsend to some who knew her. Hope she had a later happy married life , a girl with morals of her own and very strong willed. Those on the Port Talbot iron ore runners may know who I mean . Cheers JS

    hi john sabourn,#8
good morning, your reminisces of cindy from port talbot are both touching and endearing and fatherly in your approach to the fallen women in your past life, a bit like william gladstone that great prime minister i believe was a scouser whom used to trawl the byways and brothels of the capital city with no other agenda in mind but in a desperate attempt to help those fallen angels.
but the last time i saw the fair maiden was her being escorted off the ship into a waiting ambulance in port talbot docks, from all accounts she had embibed and gorged herself in such a manner that left her needing medical assistance.
