Re: Caradoc Hotel
Worked by on the Icenic in Liverpool, before sailing to kiwi. The Elm house was our pub of choice, sometimes in the evening we were the only ones in there. The manager tried to charge us the extra for being in the room as he didn’t open the bar at night. We said we would go elsewhere so he had to just charge the bar prices.
Good memories of the pub, I was once pushed back in a wheelbarrow. Happy days.
Regards Michael

Re: Caradoc Hotel
I used to use the Langton Castle when on the shore gang with Cunard, just a short walk from the Huskisson Dock, working the 'welt', one on one off. Sadly no more.

hi doc #23
good morning, i thought all you aussies where transported by ship ?
But the best one we did was after leaving the cafe to go back to the ship in narvik norway, we took a brand new sofa still in its plastic wrappings from behind the main furniture shop, and using it as a sled we bob slieghed all the way down the main road to the docks.
