Re: Excerpt from my Book
The worse part was yet to come John , the 600 dollars were American Express and I claimed for them straight away and was reimbursed . 6 months later I received a letter from American Express with photocopies of the cheque’s apparently bearing my signature twice in the appropriate place , asking to confer it was mine. it looked like mine and I wasn’t willing to argue and bring to light what I had been through as that would of certainly caused another upheaval and myself and belongings would have finished up in the street. So I paid back the $600 which was quite an amount in 1968 and had to grin and bear it and look for another job quicker than usual to make up the deficiency without the wrong people finding out. Cheers JS.

Re: Excerpt from my Book
Just browsing and came across this old Thread.
As said though it is so sad that Gordon has passed on, as his Book would have been something to read by what has been posted! There have been a few that have dome Similar and have managed to get their Books Published, and i only wish that there could be many more that could do this sort of writing.
Myself well although i do have a hell of a lot to write about, i must confess to number 1 am too damn lazy to get started
number 2 dont think that my actual vocabulary would be good enough
I have many times looked at trying to do this type of thing but never seem to have got there! A few short stories that i have my Kids and other Family Members have read and have said t me why dont you write a Book! LOL
Who knows hey!! One thing i can tell you though there are many out there who if they bought a Book by me, would not believe that what i did and went through were possible! ???
So to end , i hope that this Story by Gordon may entice more to go ahead and give us here your Stories and Experiences of the past!
Looking forward to reading Lads!

Re: Excerpt from my Book
Vernon, do as I did, write it as anicdotes in just normal language.
Remember the average reader will take it in no matter how you spell it.
