Not to too fine a point on this, further to my last post, I used a modified version of this steamed pudding when I
was a lighthouse keeper on the Bass rock using 4 cups flour and 2 eggs for 3 of us, steamed in a cotton cloth,
the other ingredients can be adjusted to taste, I also carried with me a little McDougal's Flour quick recipe book
for my shortcrust pastry to make jam tarts, got no complaints, we had to be inventive.
I remember the original steamed duff ingredients from the BP tanker, it lay on a shelf in the galley, but not the quantities.
