    Default O Dear.

O Dear, O Dear, I think I have made a Fo-par as they say, decided to check my Discharge Book and found that I had done my 4th and
final trip on the Adelaide which was going through the Suez on Coronation day, and found I was on the "Port Napier" on the Suva and
Auckland trip with the Gothic, have had my memory pills doubled, hope to be better soon.!!!!!!

I was on the Shelll tanker Narica, bound for Singapore.Don't need to check discharge book. A year in the Far East on a Shell tanker is unforgettable.Managed to have a fair amount of fun though.

Floating salute to the Queen: Her 60th coronation anniversary is celebrated with a 100-boat pageant at Henley:

The Queen may be keeping the 60th anniversary of her coronation low key, but there was no stopping her most loyal subjects today.

Around 100 boats took part in a river pageant at Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, to mark the occasion.

Some of the crews wore joke masks with the face of Prince Philip, the Queen ,Camilla, Prince Charles, Wills and his wife Kate.

Pleased to hear someone was celebrating the fact of the day. Hard work I know but someone had to do it.

I was, of course a young lad at the time, watching the first televised coronation on the TV of the family in the flat below ours. It was p15sing with rain all day but no one cared, it was a great day.
Then a few days later all the school had to stand at the side of the road to watch her and Phillip drive past.
