    Default New Years Eve.

Sailed out of London New Years Eve on the Iberia. Bound for Australia.
Must have been on the lam to sail at that time, but cant recall.
NYE in the pig and got the eye from a stewardess.
Thought this it gong to be one great trip.
Danced half the night away until my cabin mate showed up.
He had been on the previous trip.
Much to me chagrin he informed me that the stewardess was a steward.
Saved in the nick of time.
However I did have to prove my masculinity from Genoa to every other port.
As you may imagine. It was a hard test!
    Den.

    Default New Years Eve

I remember sailing on a New Years Eve it was on the D/Bedford we sailed from Newport in South Wales loaded with NZ troops bound for the middle east it was the end of 1940
It was bloody freezing as we sailed up the Irish Sea bound for Belfast to form a convoy and if my memory is right it started to snow .
