Good music came from way back then.
Up till about early 1980's it was still good, but now??????????

We have many radio stations here all playing old tunes from way back.
    Nothing later than about 1985.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

What I really hate is that "Rap" crap. I sat in a pub with my grandson last night, and the background music was in just one key being played all night.

Yes, they were big hits of his and Johnny Ray's big hit was "Cry". When Frankie Lane at the top of his Rock and Roll fame came to England, They gave him a special train "The Frankie Lane Special" and it went slow motion through towns from I think Liverpool to London and screaming kids (of our age then) waved to him as he went by. I was away on a Castle Boat.

Those were the days, young and foolish and a world to conquer.

Elvis Presley's big break came when he appeared on a TV show here in the States called the Ed Sullivan Show. Elvis became known because of his gyrations; he was known as Elvis the Pelvis. Ed Sullivan would only show him on TV "above the waist" as he claimed it was a family variety show. My how times have changed.

Over the years some great acts in this part of the country but very little of late.
Some that I remember off hand.
    Temperance Seven
    Karl Denver
    Hank Locklin
    Chris Barber
    Humphrey Lyttelton
    Helen Shapiro
Jimmy Nail ( Crocodile Shoes - Big River )

Post #13 Johnny, Did you ever see this "Dolly Bird Group" the MISSION BELLES. They played in the Ruskin Arms Manor Park. It was a struggle to get in and harder to get to the bar.
I found this on Youtube, hope it plays.

    HIgh John
In the late 90's and early 2000's I had my own small transport company ( me and a van) and I was fortunate enough to be put in contact with a couple of music agents in the London area who gave me plenty of work carrying gear around for rock groups. I have toured all over Europe with.
    Primal Scream
    Megadeath
    Niles Berkley
and also a couple of tours with an Australian string orchestra. There are many more but I cant remember there names,
But in all cases I had back stage passes and five star accommodation
