My Battle of New Orleans was with my Singapore wife, who was a Country and Western fan. After several jazz clubs and restaurants, she went on strike, and insisted I find a C & W club. "But Liz, this is New Orleans, jazz, jazz and jazz" to no avail. She donned her Gilley's T-shirt and glared at me, so I consulted the hotel staff. We were in the Ramada Inn, built in the original coaching inn, complete with stage coach double entry doors, courtyard etc. Having got over their surprise, the staff suggested a place not far from the hotel. Off we went, Liz still in her T-shirt "Lookin' for Love...at Gilley's". The club was a hole-in-the-wall place, and we squeezed along the front, close to the band. The band leader stopped the band in mid-tune, and pointed to Liz's T-shirt. The band then resumed playing, with the leader singing "Lookin' for love in all the wrong places, lookin' for love in too many faces" .....

Marion. Remember being with a young lady in Jamaica, when that song came on the radio.
She turned it off in case it offended me.
That was the last thing I was thinking about.
However the song does bring back memories!
