Default Is that music i hear?

From Beathoven to the Beatles, Johnny Cash to the Everly Brothers, the Andrews sisters to Sinatra the music lives on. So many radio stations across the globe playing music from the 40\s to the early 80's and in most cases the public just cannot get enough. Their popularity goes on long after their demise, people of all ages still enjoy the music of these most poular artists. Here in Oz stations devoted to only playing music of those eras, music that I suspect will still be played in 50 years time such is the quality.

Today whilst in the local shopping centre I heard a noise coming from the PA system. not sure what it was I enquired of centre management only to be told it was 'the music for the day'.

How do I describe the music for the day, was it the death call of a creature in agony, or maybe someone from an ancient civilisation calling from the grave? Even a cat could not make such a noise. The music of the day consisted of noise coupled with lyrics, they being of one word which sounded much like 'Ooh'.

No doubt in one week this will be replaced with another, 'music for the day' the contribution of some other tone deaf moron who thinks they are the next Presley, well let me tell you Presley and Lennon must be spinning in their graves if any one attempted to tell them this is music.

I agree we are of a different generation, and all generations have their own style of music, but how do you call this stlye? I think the Salvos with their tamborines are more akin to music than the stuff the current generation puts out.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Default looney tunes

While i have to agree somewhat with the previous posts, we should be aware that our own choice of music in those far off days of our teens was not always welcome to our elders. Titles such as do wa diddy etc and i taw i taw a puddy cat (mel blanc) So really i think we should perhaps try to turn a blind ear to the wailings of Mr (?) Bieber and Lady(?) Ga Ga, knowing fully well that that type of music will soon be forgotten.

Default So called music in the US

Most so called popularMusic here consists of someone strumming guitar, and the Lyrics that are hard to understand but mostly sound like " I Luv Ya" repeated adnauseum. If u have to watch it the performers jump around with their guitars while another moron beats a drum. And they get paid for this.
