Default The long and the short

The shortest day in Australia and the longest in the Northern Hemisphere. June the 21st and NSW reported 10 hours and 03 minutes of Daylight and is now all uphill starting tomorrow. What about the longest day in the UK.? JS ....

The Longest Day worth remembering is 'D Day', the Normandy Landings during WW 2 where thousands of soldiers experienced the worst nightmare they could ever experience waiting for the landing barges doors to open. It must have been horrific.

Well it wasn’t too far away as regards the hours of daylight on June the 6 th. Fouro. Think the original date was the end of May, cancelled due to weather . JS

Well John, if what you say in post #3 is true, little did thousands of soldiers know the bad weather was giving them a few days extention of life on this planet.
    May they all R.I.P.

    Regards from
    Fouro.

Then there are those in Norway and Sweden, in the far north 24 hour day light for almost three months,
then come winter, three months in the dark.
Was told both have a bad effect on the mentality of some there.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#6. Must have when they can’t see what time it is in the dark. Especially when one doesn’t get their breakfast dinner and tea on time. And the barmaid can’t see to put the proper measure into the glass . JS
