It has been noted by the international weather observation platform that wind levels and speed are in decline across the globe.
Here in Oz when we get the hot northerlies it goes over the top.

This year we have noticed a decline in wind speed in our region and very obvious last August which is usually the windiest month of the year.

Wish the weather would get a move on here, last night t was down to Minus 10, this morning have a heater on in every room trying to get the place to warm up. Fed a big flock of Kurrawong's this morning, when I went to put something in the bin they came clamoring at my feet, had to give them another feed, Porridge oats LoL.

Des, we are still getting up to 18 each day, that is about 4 above average for time of year.
But now in severe drought, no serious rain since last ctober.

Yesterday The Cristian Church school opposite our house decided to hold a Classic car show and make a bit of money selling cakes etc, boy they must have been praying to the wrong God or something, the fog was so thick we couldn't see their car park across the road, and it stayed like that all day. Today it was fog again but lifted around 10am and now a lovely sunny but cold day, after another minus 8 night.

#10 It is not only Spain that the building trade corrupt building on land that is not suitable. Here in the UK all you need is a friendly local councillor or 2 and find a piece of land to build homes on, thing is in Spain you mention dry river beds (Barrancas), here in the UK it is aquiring building land on land that has been designated as Flood Plain.
When I was looking at a villa near Benassa Costa Blanca. The estate thief/agent took us to view one. It was built over a river bed. They just filled the river bed in but they had laid a large concrete pipe in the bed first and then did the build. This pipe was maybe a meter in diameter. Obvious what that was for . We declined his very generous offer as he said the owners were flexable on the price as they were anxious to sell. I wonder why?

Back to the weather, North West of England has been declared as officially now in a drought. Reservor levels at this time of year are normally at 90% full, they are down to pre 1976 levels below 40%. When you consider that last summer and winter were one of the wettest on record, climate change!!!

It comes after England experienced its driest start to spring for almost 70 years, with the Environment Agency declaring a drought in the North West.

Mind you it would help if they would get their backsides into gear and do more to fix the water leaks. My road nearly every other day there is a new leak seeping through the pavement. I was speaking a United Utilities guy the other day. Whats going on with all these leaks? These pipes last 50 years , these houses have been up 50 years so they are coming to the end of there expected life. Okay so why not just dig the pavements up and do the lot then?seemed a reasonable question to me, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders.
Several people have had there the water supply pipes damaged by the likes of Virgin media O2 when they have been running in Fibre optic cables.


They need to stop saying climate change it is to easy for some folk just to say not round here blah blah. Need to be saying the earths weather is evolving and the planet is warming up.

A marine heatwave has been building in the ocean surrounding the UK during an exceptionally warm and dry spring. In other words, the sea surface temperature has been within the top 10% of records for each day of the year since at least the beginning of 2025.

How can we know the temperature of the sea surface over such a large area? Throughout April and May 2025, scientists have been able to map and monitor the seas surrounding the UK via satellites, buoys and other floating devices, plus computer models that simulate the ocean’s physical and chemical properties.

Infrared detectors mounted on pole-orbiting satellites can infer the temperature of the top layer of the ocean and have been doing so continuously since the late 1970s. These sensors cannot “see” through clouds, which is why other sources of data are essential.

Nice scenario James, but, how did all them satellites mis the growing ice on Antarctica?

test from the southern Ice shelf, it is growing day by day to some amount not previously recorded.

Asto the north of England,
Bit on the net Saturday, there is forming in the norther hemisphere a weather system that comes around every 80 to 90 years and only effects the northern hemisphere.
Bit like an El Nino one, brings dry winters and at times wet summers.

But come here to Oz, drought across half the country, unseasonal rainfall in the north eastern states and a bit warm for time of year.

Is it climate change.
No mate just part of a regular weather cycle here in Oz.

Bit in the news today, more and more scientists are coming out and saying the climate change scenarios ahs been so overdone they consider it to be detrimental to all scientific bodies.

Just came in from hanging the washing out, like a frozen fish, I think with the wind chill must be around minus 6
have been sitting here At the comp for an hour with a radiator on full and still frozen, think I will jump into the freezer to warm up

#17 John if I had been born BC and had a brain of sorts I would of tended to be a Sun Worshipper. The sun gives us day and night, seasons of the year, , grows our crops, gives us a liveable lifestyle by providing most things for the human race to exist. I think to most learned people they accept that the earth broke away from the Sun in what could be said the dawn of time. Time is irrevelent when it comes to things like ice ages as again it all depends on the earths position relevant to the sun. This changes by the second or split second in what we call time, all our navigational information has to be used to find out where we are and the past few hundred years this has been static and useable for the navigator , however the slightest alteration to the tilt of the earth will alter climatic conditions , the varying speeds and distance from the sun will alter climatic conditions , if this is the case and is the source of so called Climate change how does the puny human who thinks he has the wisdom of the ages intend to counter it. By putting the price of petrol up maybe ? Some hopes ! Cheers JS
