Greetings From Ormesby.
Greetings one & all,
Some of you may have noticed, some may not, but it is quite sometime since I posted a message on this great site due to various reasons, one, there just isn't enough hours in the day and I am kept so busy in many ways, in addition we have had a lovely week in Nottingham were our youngest daughter lives, a lovely & interesting town we then went onto Liverpool (my original home town)for another week spent at my sisters house in Bootle as always there is plenty of things to do but one interesting trip I had while there which brought back some great memories of my sea going days as I am sure will bring back memories for many of the members of this site, a trip up the Manchester Ship Canal on the Snowdrop one of the Mersey Ferries, a six hours trip up to Salford Quays as it is now known and what a change since I was last there no more ships, we then had two & a half hours at the Quays which was a nice experience then the bus back to Liverpool all included in the price.
In adition to that on the 15th of next month we are off to Chicago to meet up with a very good ex sea going friend of mine that I have made contact with after fifty years and I must mention that it is thanks to this site that I have been able to contact him, however I will keep you posted on my return as to how the trip went.
Finally I would like to welcome to this site the latest members that have joined I am sure they will get a lot of enjoyment from it as well as information.
Hope I havent bored you with the little bits of info.
Best wishes to one and all especially healthwise.
John Aspin (R685343) Ormesby-Middlesbrough
