Abandoned ship full of EVs burning in the Pacific.

A cargo ship transporting 3,000 cars abandoned in the middle of the Pacific after massive fife broke out it is thought that the fire was fueled by the vehicles lithium-ion batteries which are notoriously difficult to extinguish once ignited.
the ship , named Morning Midas, was reportedly traveling from China to Mexico the 22 crew were picked up by a near by merchant ship after failing to put out the fire and had to abandon ship in life boats after putting out a distress call.
Thank god they are all safe .These cars are DANGEROUS !!!

Not the first time this has happened.
One last year up in the Baltic region.
The batteries continue to be a problem as are some of the home ones on sale now.
Been a couple of houses damaged by them and one house burned down when the battery on an electric scooterwent up in flames.
At the time not even plugged in.

That’s also part of the trouble if they are built for the drive on drive off system that they always have fuel in their tanks. In a previous post The Maratha Envoy had two of her 7 holds converted by installing car decks in them. The law at that time was if they had fuel in their tanks you had to be able to do a complete atmosphere change twice a day think it was ,so extractor fans had to be fitted , the only trouble with that was that this caused sweating in the hold and corrosion damage to the cars on long passages , so I conveniently only put on the fans after a visual daily inspection of these two holds hoping the smell of gas would warn me of any fire hazard. Today electric cars are obviously more dangeruous to carry than petrol driven cars .? JS.
