Re: You want J***y J***y Jonny
Once again you have jiggled the memory cells! We picked up a cargo of Gypsum from a small port on the south coast of the Dominican Republic, can't remember the name. It had one anchorage in the middle of the bay marked by a buoy, more like the top of a mountain or volcano and if you missed you had to haul it in and try again, but that's beside the point. The first cargo we took to Tampa in Florida but there must have been some time constraints on the charter as we still had some hundreds of tons left to discharge when we were told to stop and get back there for another load by such and such a date so off we went, full speed ahead. The channel into the loading berth had been blasted through solid rock so there was a draft limit and you had to be on an even keel to get maximum tonnage. Nearing the end of loading meant the Chief Officer had to be on the wharf all the time adjusting trim/hatches to get our maximum load. When we completed loading and were waiting on shore figures the Chief Officer said I just had an interesting little chat down on the wharf. A young lady asked him if he would like a j***y j*g to which he'd replied No, she asked why and he said he was too busy. She replied that the Chief Officer of the ******* , another vessel which just happened to be manned and managed by our Company hadn't been too busy. So we all knew what he'd been up to in the jungle. Ha!Ha!

Re: You want J***y J***y Jonny
#12 wasn’t the Dominican Republic the eastern end of the Island and the Western end Haiti ? Remember being there years and years ago. Can’t remember which end of the island but it was either Haiti or the Dominican Republc where all work used to stop for about 15 minutes at 0900 hrs. for people to conjugate on their good fortune on having the sublime good fortune to be lead by their sublime President and leader who was very much alive and in total control . Whichever end it was Haiti was the land of the Black art .one of the two countries at the time was ruled by a Papa someone or other. Then one talks about the world leaders today , there has been little improvement if any. Cheers JS

But not like any Doc we all knew.
Doubt he could diagnose an illness.
Might cause a few though.

Happy daze John in Oz.
