Re: Chart correction aids
John when I first joined this site all those years ago and a similar discussion was going on , I had a query and it was “ what would you prefer or what is the difference , between a benevolent dictator or a limp pm”. The answers were variable but mostly people were averse to a dictator and shouted the benefits of a democratic elected president or prime minister . Are people most of this same mind today ? And why ? Both are politicians and both are supposed to be there for the benefit of the country ? In the 1960s I visited the then Yugoslavia for a holiday , this was not too long after Tito had died but he was still held in high regard by everybody I talked to much more so than any other leader I know of. And he was supposed to be as red as a tomato. Cheers JS.
Re: Chart correction aids
So back to chart corrections. I seem to remember we went to the Gulf ports and also Iranian ports. There was a dispute with some port authority official. Apparently he was not going to let us leave until the Charts were corrected. He insisted the Chart was altered to Arabian Gulf and Persian Gulf crossed out.
More charts for the engine room:)
Trump can call the Gulf of Mexico what he wants but I think the rest of the world will call it the Gulf of Mexico.
It is the same with the English Channel, the French call it La Manche (The Sleeve).
Good name actually especially over recent years. A sleeve is part of a shirt or a Jumper/Refugees as plenty refugees wear Jumpers while cross the Sleeve.
