MI5 and MI6 are offering paid courses of 11 -12 weeks for applicants to gain experience of their workings and with opportunities of future employment, but these places are only open to Black,Asian or other ethnic minorities, they are not accepting applications from White applicants, unless they come from a deprived family, a deprived family is for example a family of the following trades but must be unemployed, plumber, taxi driver, bus driver etc etc the list goes on.

It’s nothing new , the only thing different is that it is now public knowledge, years ago however there were no courses, just the information on certain info. That a visiting seaman would notice. If one can remember a bloke called Think it was Grenville a business man was picked up in Poland by the Russians for spying , he was just an amateur untrained civilian thinking he was doing his public duty.Dont know how many years he got, but British Intelligence denied all knowledge of him. I was in Murmansk a few times in the 60s a few times and approached for certain info. I told the Intelligence officer to get stuffed, his reply “ your not very patriotic are you”. My reply to him are you going to support my wife and family while I’m in the Gulag. JS

John, I think Mr Grenville was Romania rather than Poland (I stand to be corrected) because I had a similar experience when in Romania for business and it was difficult to resist, because they surround you with beautiful intelligent women if you are from the West, but self preservation and common sense ruled the day and like you didn't want to spend time in some godforesaken prison as a political pawn. What I had to offer gawd only knows, but any information they can glean no matter how seemingly insignificant could be useful. As when we returned from our trips to China, which were many, we were always interviewed by the USA, Canadian and Australian Coastguards or similar and asked for sketches, as we were not allowed to use our radars, echo sounders, cameras, binoculars, drawing materials or charts whilst in Chinese waters in days gone by and had Chinese guards onboard to ensure we didn't, all cameras had to be lodged with the Master and god help you if they found one that wasn't. All part of life's rich pattern.

Your probably right Ivan , I say Poland as the Russians were still in then , memory not as good as it was , I think Grenville might of been Granville as well., I was in Poland in 1969 and could make a fortune on a Woolworth plastic biro or a packet of chewing gum if their money was any use. #2 I can tell you exactly the info. I was asked to supply ,1. The depth of water alongside the berth. If you were caught with a fishing line over the side you were in trouble. 2. The gauge of the railway line on the wharfs. 3. The profiles of any submarine sighted. Murmansk at that time was their biggest submarine base which was ice free all year round. These were the three I remember , they even offered a camera free. Should have pulled my eyelid down and asked Mr.Brooke Bond or whatever his false name was, could he see any green there. Cheers JS

Every country has an espionage dept. probably spends more time spying on themselves and promoting their own for accumulating greater wealth for themselves. There has and possibly still such people on site primed to do the same for different reasons mostly by people of low intelligence and usually easily spotted. JS.
