Re: Latest Glen Sannox Delay
Latest problem for this ferry is it's sewage system. It can handle the 20_25 persons on board for sea trials but will likely need upgrade or tweaking when it's carrying 200-300 passengers. Most likely this work will be carried out in February when she is due in dock to permanently fix the anchor stowage problem.

Re: Latest Glen Sannox Delay
It's got to be fixed next week, as will be carrying passengers on the 13th.
You couldn't make it up, she apparently emits more Co2 than any other ship in th Calmac fleet.

Glen Shannon now in service, 4 years late and millions over budget. Pity successive government never valued manufacturing of any sort, we might still be able to build ships.

Re: Latest Glen Sannox Delay
Watching the BBC news Glen Sannox at sea on maiden voyage , 7 years late and 4 times over according to the article. They interviewed Islanders and the problems the delay has cost some. One guy on Mull needed dialysis 3 times a week, Because of the unreliable ferry service he has had to leave Mull and moved elsewhere so he can get treatment. Also the tourist indusrty has been impacted affecting local business. Hopefully things will improve now that the Glen Sannox is in service, I wonder did they resolve the issues with the sewage system? Might be an idea to give the old Prawn Vindaloo a miss.

Governments valuing manufacturing or any other useful concept.

Re: Latest Glen Sannox Delay
Just a question.
Doesn't the Gov and ship builders use Naval Architects anymore? Can't remember so many stuff up as happening presently.
