No Brenda is giving it a miss this year, its a very long way for her to come, its expensive by rail plus the hotels, meals etc. I am lucky having daughters living in London, free travel on Saturday with my Vets Card, so only expense is my rail fare home on MondayQuote:

Here in Melbourne at 1100 hours normally a lone bugler plays the last post, the city comes to a stand still.
This year will be a bit different.
Son of a very good friend of ours lives in Texas, he is over here to play in a pipe band for the PM.
On Monday he will have the honor of being a lone piper this year for a change playing the last post on the bagpipes..
Conveniently forgot why Israel went into Gaza? In case you forgot it was triggered by the cowardly Iran backed Hamas invasion into Israel and slaughter of innocents and kidnapping of hostages. And before anyone says about attacks on schools etc. in Gaza, I'll remind them of the fact the cowards purposely set up bases in those places. Arabs snipers have ALWAYS taken up positions behind women and children. I seem to recall reading about an interview with Israel's PM Gold Meir. The interviewer said, " Mrs. Meir, if Israel laid down it's weapons there would be peace in the Middle East". Meir replied," If Israel laid down their weapons there would be no more Israel".
I agree in part... But "genocide"....No.... When a terrorist group HIDES behind Women & Children.... in tunnels & under hospitals......there will be unwanted causalities. all Terrorists use this tactic.

Ask yourself another question: Which Arab State wants the immigrants from Gaza and/or "Palestine"........ Did you answer correctly? NONE....Not one Arab State wants them.
It was Egypt that closed the Southern border and held up relief for Gaza after Oct 7th.... Ask yourself: Why did they do that?
Here's another question for you: How many Arabs/******s work , every day, in Israel? Thousands...... Now, How many Jewish people work in the neighboring Arab States? Is that a GOTCHA?

I do not believe that every person living in Gaza is a member of HAMAS or is a terrorist.
But according to Israel that is the case.
Time will see Israel again under attack, by those orphans who will in time be trained by either HAMAS or some other terrorist group.

We talk about innocent people. How many innocent civilians were killed in the last world war ? One is guilty by default for knowingly harbouring terrorists. One must have known in a small enclave like Palestine that rockets were being fired to kill and maim others. And in most cases cheered them on. If the same happens in the future I would assume the response would be exactly the same. I would expect no less from the leaders of whatever country I was a member of. Live by the sword then expect the possibility of dying by the same implement. Today we honour our fighting forces of fighting for freedom from such, they would turn in their graves if today they saw the killing that still continues. JS

Lately I have been checking up on the deaths of my Aunt and two little girl cousins in the bombing of Swansea, their house had a direct hit by a 500pound bomb. Now incendiaries where the weapon of choice when bombing cities as it caused maximum fires. As my uncle was working on the British Atomic bomb I often wonder if a bit of skulduggery was employed, there was talk of a high up German spy who was Welsh.
