    Default Firemen's Training School

My Dad's "first ship" is listed as the Firemen's Training School in Newcastle. From his recollection it was basically a disused warehouse on the quayside. We're talking 1949. I tried the local Archivist who told me no such place ever existed. Clearly it did. I have a discharge book to prove it - but that's not the point - I'm wondering if anyone else has any pointers as to exactly where on the quayside it might have been...or indeed any other family stories about having been there.
