One thing that stands out in my mind is a huge frying pan hung over the open fire on a hook. There was only a cold water tap fitted to a large sink. Fouro, those conditions persisted for quite a few years, longer than you might have thouht. I had an aunt who lived inPrudhoe Northumberland, she lived in a one room hovel just of the main street, accessed via an arched coach entrance which opened into a courtyard; she had one room off the courtyard with no running water or toilet. There was a cold water tap in the yard which was used by several other residents as well as a communal toilet. It was Dickensian at best. She was eventually rehoused in a new OAP bungalow in late sixties/ early seventies.
Some years (73/74) laterI went with a RFA mate of mine to visit his relatives in Dundee for a few days; We went to see one of his uncles in central Dundee and it was like deja vue, virtually the same conditions as my aunty, although he had a tap indoors. Absolutely disgusting having anyone living like that; I have no doubt at all that there were people living in similar places all the country for many years after.

Now Notayahoo wants to build some 8000 houses on the West Bank, says Israel should still have control over Gaza when the war ends.

So this is not just about removing , or attempting to remove, a terrorist organization, it is also about taking more land for Iseral to extend outside the 1948 borders.

    hi john sabourn #99
good afternoon, As i write this, the time is coming up to 4 bells and my position is roughly 53 . 38 . 50. N and 3 . 0 26. 38 W , im sorry i cannot put the correct notions in as my keyboard does not have the necessary keys or i cannot find them , for the degrees to be added in the correct positions, But i have to impress on you that my wife has never served breakfast in bed for me, I believe she may have come close over the years to putting it over my head now and again but one expects the occasional misfortune when upsetting the lioness of the pride whom is totally in charge of all and she must not be stressed, especially in the morning , As for my sleeping arrangements i am a early riser and fill my day to the full god willing it keeps on that way ,

    Hi Thomas.
My wife has, since we came to live in Cooma always got up and had breakfast on her own, as she says she likes a quiet breakfast; and I talk to much, she then brings in a mug of tea each and we discuss the week past and the day to come. I don't mind missing out on a breakfast conversation as long as she brings the mug of tea .

My wife has had breakfast in bed for the last 20 years ever since I retired.
I sit at the kitchen table and eat mine all alone.
Sometimes the cat comes and looks at me while I eat.

Since the 'operation' it is now a trans gender cat as are many Tom cats that have been 'seen to'.
