I have published my latest monograph on “Wanted on Voyage”

https://wantedonthevoyage.blogspot.c...ss-cymric.html

In time (barely!) for her 125th anniversary year, this is the story of what was one of the most important and influential ships built for White Star Line, among the first of Harland & Wolff’s “Big Ships” that combined huge size (CYMRIC was the fourth largest ship in the world at completion), enormous cargo (and her case, cattle, too) space and passenger accommodation. CYMRIC was doubly notable for being the first progenitor of the “one-class” cabin ship with only First Class, no second , and a large steerage capacity. She was the mainstay of the Boston-Liverpool route and in her 18 years service proved one of the most profitable ships in White Star’s history and led directly to “The Big Four”: CELTIC, CEDRIC, BALTIC and ADRIATIC, NIEUW AMSTERDAM, LAPLAND etc.
