    Default Proposed Meeting in Melbourne!

    Hi
Below is a notice of a proposed Meeting in Melbourne this coming Merchant Navy Day 3rd Sept.
This is at the request of Mort and John,so if anyone out there who thinks that they may be available for this Meet up please contact either of them at the Links shown below.
    Thank you!
    Vernon

    Ahoy all ye lubbers!
Ha Ha only joking I need you attention
Judging by the input on this forum there are a number of us ex seafarers living in or around Melbourne.

What say you to a "get together" for a pint and a natter .It can be informal just us lads or more la de da with our ladies. I have checked out three venues and it all depends on your willingness to paticipate.

#1 is THE LONDON which is a working mans pub opposite the old
piers in Port Melb .A few memories there I'd say. OK for a glass or two and a pie.
Sep room off main bar.Parking in street ,tickets 60c hour on beach side.

#2 THE PIER also Port,up market ,suggest wives,$30 a head sep room grog included
finger food. Very pleasant surroundings, beach right opposite. Parking as above.
To make this viable we need 50 people.

#3 MILANOS on Brighton Beach. sep room and bar.Seniors menu sit down meal with
service, ($15 a head) grog at bar prices plenty free parking. Train from Flinders
St stops at door. 30 WOULD BE A GOOD NUMBER HERE.

OVER TO YOU CHAPS,I SUGGEST MERCHANT NAVY DAY 3 SEPT.

Contact Mort (Neil )or Happy Days (John ) through forum.

If I can get a beer out of Vernon I will be there with bells on. Taff mate, hate to disillusion you but the selling of used goods is now banned in most Victorian markets, but the op shops are well into it. But if we could get some of th eladies to attend it would be good behaivior for all of us.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    The Wife she say YES.
Will have to arrange accommodation in town, anybody know of a good place/s. she wants to be near CBD/ markets.
As for free booze, i understand the booze is free , but there's a hefty surcharge on the glass even if you bring your own glass.
    Geoff.
PS I'm glad its not in Hobart, got a bashing from a M/C cop and a night in the cells there.
