Re: How do you leave the forum?
The thing is Brenda if you end up getting mugged you cannot cancel the £100 in notes they have stolen.
One thing I do think is wrong is this scan your card at checkouts, I always chip and pin. Lose your card and someone can have a field day scanning all over the place
Can anyone tell me why a UK , well certainly LLoyds bank debit card has all your bank details on the card even down to the 3 digit number on the back.
Certainly does not have the account details on my French bank card.
Re: How do you leave the forum?
There is now a move to do away with cash all together here in Oz now. Personally I prefer the good old redies. I wonder how blind people are going to handle cashless transactions when they can not see what the total amount they are being charged. It is all a bloody conspiricy I reckon to take more independence away from the ordinary person. Just like here in Oz the big boys are causing homelessness and that in turn causes more demand for housing and forced up prices. That in turn causes panic amongst purchasers for property. They did it years ago by making mortgages easier to obtain hence the GFC collapse. Now they realise their mistake and now making property the main criteria instead of money. Much like the old toilet paper fiasco that occurd here with covid.

Just reading a book [Fiction]? where in the States they were putting scam cards onto the petrol pumps scamming the cards, not far off the truth these days.
Brenda wee have only two banks left in Cooma, if they close the nearest would be in Canberra 120 kilometers away, and I only have a ten kil license. If there is no money there will not be any bills paid. There has been this push for money to disappearfor a few years now, I wonder if the bitcoin billionaires are waiting to pounce?

Re: How do you leave the forum?
I have had a few lost, but I'm pretty sure it's my fault pushing the wrong keys. What I do now is I compose my posts on Gmail. make all the corrections I want then post it from gmail to the site on MN and once I see it has been posted to the site as a reply or a new article, I go back to gmail and close it out. If I do screw up in posting it on MN I can go back and copy it again. I have not lost one since I started doing that last year.
Cheers, Rodney

The easiest way to leave the forum is when you see that little box with “LogIn” on it……don’t.

Re: How do you leave the forum?
Banks, I have not used cash since August last year.
Either debit or credit card now.
First few days was a bit odd but now no worries mate.
Many places here in Oz now will not take cash, card only.
But some, mainly those with Asian owners only want cash.
Her in doors still uses cash for groceries and personal stuff, but I feel safe with this system.
Got a message the other day from my bank, had stopped a transaction on my card as it was not genuine, some one in USA had got onto mine.
Think the banks now are getting very good at spotting scams, better than they were.
Re: How do you leave the forum?
It's been interesting to read some of the responses to my question on here. :D
I have belonged to another forum, which I had similar problems with, due to not being a pooter expert.
I asked the same question on there, and was guided to the "Leave" button (which I couldn't find before), then advised to join again, which I did. After that I had no such problems, and I have no idea how that worked, but it did.
Re: How do you leave the forum?
Hello Johnny
There is n Leave Button on this site.
If you want to leave and rejoin, that is something that you of course can do, but seeing as you can Post etc, why???
Its a case of me Deleting your Membership, if this is the way you want to, and then you can just go through the channels of rejoining, but to be honest it really would not make any difference
Soin my Humble Opinion, just stay as you are , if there are any Probs, Message me and we can see to try and sort things out!
Happy Browsing !
Cheers

Thanks Doc, haven't experienced any vanishing post since that time, so it's all good.
