The definition of a ship used to be even according to the Oxford Concise Dictionary ..A 3 or 4 masted vessel square rigged on at least 3. Today no such thing it is a vessel that floats in water among other things. To me a boat goes on a ship and not a ship on a boat. Although saying that there are occasions that ships and other things are carried on the decks of other vessels. When is a ship underway ? When it is not at anchor , made fast to the shore , or aground. It is still underway even if not making way through the water. JS

I suppose this Boat/Ship thing is a bit like Car/Motor innit. Posh, upity people, would call them cars in those days, like "Hello John, have you got a new car?" Whereas, I would say "Hello John, got a new motor?"
If we were all ashore and finished our beer, some of us would say "I'm going back to the boat". Others of course would say "I'm going back to the ship". Now , I wouldn't be surprised if we all ended up at the same place. Unless of course, we were from different "vessels".

Garage Garage !!?? What’s that ? My wife who was my girl friend for 5 years , or at least one of them, I thought she was posh as she lived in a private house and her father had an A30 which he actually kept it in his garage. Me coming from a council estate had no garage never mind a car . So I thought she had money . Has taken me 66 years to find out all her money came from me. Cheers JS
PS my wife has corns with age but if they were as bad as recently exhibited think it may have lowered my ardour , some people it must do something kinky for them ? JS
