Would you want one sitting in your garage at night when you read of increasing numbers on our roads and in our car parks bursting into flames. The BBC had a programme on last night about electric vehicles and it was very biased towards them, although one chap who was an advocate of EVs prior to purchasing one, less than a year after purchase he went back to petrol, said his journies took three times as long with the EV, when he needed a charger en-route they were invariably occupied, when you did get one you had a minimum 30 minute charging period to get a reasonable distance again, and what really pizzed him off were the diesel/petrol cars pulling in, filling up, paying and back on the road within 5/7 minutes. There are rapid chargers that will charge your battery full in 15 minutes, but are only suited to very expensive cars with specialised batteries, they would destroy the batteries of the average EV, apparently the warning is in small print, that sounds about right!
