Just another couple of snippets about WWII survival

Lim Poon a steward on the 'Benlomond' survived a 133 days alone on a liferaft before being rescued by Brazilian fishermen.

Two Lascar firemen survived a 134 days on a liferaft after their vessel 'Fort Lanqueuil' was sunk, they eventually landed on the Sumatran coast and promptly taken prisoner by the Japanese.

Human fortitude is at times amazing

    Hi Ivan.
Watched a program on TV last night about wartime Liverpool, in it the presenter from many years ago was talking to a woman who waited for years to find out about her Chinese husband, only to be told that around two thousand Chinese Merchant seamen had been rounded uo and sent back to China, what a travesty of justice from the Govt of the day, after these blokes had served on the ships crossing the Atlantic during the war. They left behind many families who hadn't a clue as to what happened, all done secretly

Then Des after the war they sent kids here to Oz to repopulate the country.
Told the kids their parents were dead, so much for compassion.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.
