    Default New Channel Ferry Service

A new Channel Ferry service was launched the weekend, sailing from Ramsgate to Ostend.
The ship is the sailing ship MORGENSTER and will carry 30 passengers, with a good wind it is estimated sailing time will be two days, with two days in Port and a further two days for return voyage, all meals included.
    Not cheap £700.

I see in the news France have the hump over the UK not responding to an SOS from a boatful of illegals. They said it was tracked from the beach, right out until it was in British waters, so there's no excuse for not responding. Why did they not stop it in French waters if they knew it was there all along? Is it because they were part of the quota, paid for by gov.uk to send them over for our reserve of future cheap labour?
Evidently, there's a group that track ALL the boats from start to finish, so they must be aware of them at the beaches.

    Johnny.
I hope it isn't the intention of the UK Govt to issue Brit passports to these people, else we can expect them down here in the near future.

With a good wind and loaded with illegals it could sail the oceans for years.

But not much good for a quick trip across the channel.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Give it time Des, give it time. They have to put them to work first, to allow them to blend in. Then they'll become citizens, and get the passports. Then, in time, they may well get some compo for the slavery lark.

Could be up for some myself. My dad told me that as a kid in Ireland, he was "indentured" I'm sure that's the word he used, to different people, one a farmer, the other a tailor. He said it amounted to slavery and ill treatment, but was the norm for kids in those days. He had to go and live with these people, be fed by them, and work whatever hours they demanded for no pay.
