Re: Our king charles
Looked at the whiskey bottle newly opened last night and is still half full or half empty whichever way one wants to look at it , so reckon that was 3 toasts I gave him. The next 3 will be to myself tonight unless the wife finds the bottle and hides it. The two new electric chairs arrived on the 4 th. So got here in time. That’s worth a toast to the chairs my private thrones in disguise . JS

Check the model number before you sit in it to ensure its not the model you only use once

Grim reaper.jpg Spooky or what, let's hope it was not the Grim Reaper leaving his calling card.
Must admit I did not see it, anyone spot the mystery person.

Re: Our king charles
I'm glad it's all over, it went on a bit too long. We missed the flypast, they must have crept round another way, they always fly over our way normally. Harry had to get back to her majesty queen Megan a bit sharpish, to help with her new book about the white balcony.

Re: Our king charles
Huge picture of King Charles dressed in Highland gear on the front page of our Sunday paper, I think it was what they call photo shot as he was twice the size; but the same size head, it looked weird. I saw the balcony shot on the news , surprised they didn't have props under it as there are more and more every time, with one ignorant little twit slow clapping to the crowd.

Re: Our king charles
Having seen the 53 version of this I noticed a few subtle changes.
For the anointing a white canopy was held over the Queen, there was no glove worn when she took the scepter, no going behind the scenes as Charles did to be robed, but there was no consort to crown,
The music did not go on as long after and the total service was shorter by at least 30 minutes.
But what we have is a continuation of stability.
Look around the world, UK with a monarchy and democracy is a stable constitution no matter the hick ups that occur from time to time.
Consider some other nations where there is a president often supported by the army, or those with a dictator or despot as leader.
The monarchy, love it or hate it has kept the UK in good stead for well over 1,000 years and there is no reason why it should not for the next 1,000.
Under a Monarchy Britain has conquered almost half the world at times, discovered, freed, and ye sat time s maybe not acted in the best, but where it not for such an institution, 'The Firm' as they love to call it where would UK be today I wonder?
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Our king charles
There were some fantastic feats of engineering on view throughout the coronation weekend, not least of all on the dresses worn by Katy Perry and Nicola shressinger,, how they managed to avoid giving the world a full on topless shot was amazing lol

Re: Our king charles
The military band display was something again, and then i read that all the drummers were tuned in , by WIFI ?, i suppose, so that they beat the drum to the same time right through the whole parade, and therefore every one was in step etc. Well done to our military.
