Only way to get that now is through the Guildhall Library , London, the Ports i mentioned are as said from earlier Years!@
Email the Library and give details of the Ship and the Year in Question. They will normally send you the Voyage Record Card Free if its only one or two Ships

Definitely a tanker Vernon as she was managed by Rowbothoms. Sludge/sewer tankers were managed by PLA and owned by London Greater Council and known in the trade as 'Bovril Boats' no one ever got fired for broaching the cargo

Re: Bassethound
#8 went for an interview with those same sludge vessels after the Seamans strike in 1966. At the Greater London Inner Council . They advertised in the National Newspapers as merchant seamen now is the time to work a 40 hour week .However in the small print it said those with any infirmities preventing them going deep sea would get preference. Those Jobs were already secured before any interviews were done which I realised when I saw the candidates. The two office wallahs who interviewed me didn’t get past the first question which was “ how can you afford to move from Newcastle to London with a drop in wages ? “, My reply “ If you think your wages are too low , then you should up them “. That was it and I walked out . But soon remembered I hadn’t claimed travelling expenses so had to go back cap in hand and that was another story trying to get blood out of a stone. JS
PS as an added observation in that same main office block all those years ago it was like the League of Nations every office worker from every part of the world was represented , a sure sign of things to come. JS
