Re: Australian merchant navy awards council
#1 when I received in 1999 the first of the Australian and the other 2 adornments to the medal at a later date, there was no mention of cost. I am trying now to find out now why ? I received the full medal and the miniature also the ribbon as well free gratis. All in presentation boxes with the government certificate as a proof of genuinity, and told a further 10 years would award a further clasp to the original Australian Merchant Navy Service Cross. After long deliberation of 3 minutes , I said no thanks as would then be 75 years of age and thought the younger fellows should have a go. JS

Leonard Fahy who replied to this email , your surname strikes a bell in my memory somewhere but the first name of Roger is more likely to accompany it. Are you originally from Scotland ? Cheers JS
