MV Flag Theofano
In todays local news a memorial has been laid for a seaman lost in the Solent 30 odd years ago, the MV Flag Theofano, i remember the incident well, we had had a terrific storm through the night, and this ship , laden with cement, had entered the eastern Solent, and the next thing they knew was a lifeboat had washed up on Hay
ling Island, the ship had overturned in sight of the coast, and very close, and the loss of life was very sad. To think almost within swimming distance, a ship could go down with the loss of crew.
