The City of York , City of Port Elizabeth, carried 120 first class passengers, ( no 2nd or 3rd class), in the engine room was a large sewage
tank for port use, once at sea this was pumped out with a anticlog pump, this pump was always getting clogged up, alongside the pump
was the engineers favourite tool ( a large hammer), So when the pump got clogged up you gave it a good whack with the hammer and
away it chugged pumping the munchy crunchys overboard.

Temp dunnies put out for concerts etc.
Who cleans them up and where do the contents get dumped?
Been in a few and they are not exactly inviting, also on building sites for the workers.
Some times they may sit there for a week or so after th event before being taken for cleaning.
Could be a sticky sort of job cleaning them then.

    cHEERS
Where can you purchase these tablets in bulk and can we send them all to canberra to see if we can reduce the shite coming from there as it seems that the rest of Oz is starting to sink under the amount coming from there.
That's the way the mop flops.

Don’t think it has been mentioned in any of these stories , if it has. apologies. Maybe these all refer to that old seagoing expression “ Never leave a bad smell behind “ .JS

It is not just the Canberran smell it is the fact we can see it happen in real time on the ABC.
I wonder who has to clean the parliament dunnies, do they get a special rate for that.
Or maybe it is still on the old piece rate scale,

I thought that all ships trading to India or Africa were fitted with thunderboxes. We were on charter to Brocklebanks and had an Indian crew who used the thunderbox in preference to the toilet.
Soon learned to have focsle head washed down before a standby or you were standing in faeces as hawse pipes were often used to save walking aft.
