    The ships and experiences?

    Thank you
Dad, Charles Edwin Furneaux, joined the Merchant Navy in 1939/40. I know little of his record except that his first posting was to Malta and he was an excellent footballer and boxer (bantamweight). We have medals for both. He survived the war and his favourite sailings had been to South Africa. I have tried, but been unsuccessful in tracing his ships/postings. Any help greatly appreciated.

See you live in Southampton from your postcode.
Southampton university archives have a large collection of maritime records so maybe a visit to them could help you with your research.

    Hi Geoffrey
Can we have his DOB, and where he came from please! This may help in searching
    Thanks

I have looked around a bit but as yet cannot come up with his Records! Possibly they may be available at the Southampton Maritime Archives in their original form.
You can Email them and ask if they can tell you if his records are there!
    Cheers
