Default Cold War Candles - Nick Eliason

Recently published is my autobiography of 10 years spent at sea during the 1970's with the Cunard fleet.

This paperback may be of particular interest to any seafarer of that era. It incorporates training as a deck cadet at Warsash through to promotion as second mate, having served on numerous types of deep sea vessels.

The writing style is intended to be fast-paced and entertaining.

The book is available from Amazon and all good book sellers.

I would greatly appreciate any comments or reviews in due course.

    Warm regards,

    Nick

Many a such book has been written and that is good as it keeps some info of our lives at sea alive.

Have written my life at sea but never attempted to get published.
Problem is the only ones who would believe it are other seamen.
Most ashore would consider it to be some sort of fairy tale, or horror story depending on their taste.

It's good to know MN memoirs are still appearing, I've read a good number so far and have published two. I see Amazon has put yours in the category 'geography' - they also have a 'ship references' and 'memoir' category. Also, they make it easy to convert to eBook format. The 'look inside' feature of Amazon helps to encourage sales. Best wishes for the venture.

How true John. I gave up sharing my experiences a long time ago. What is sad is that the younger generation don’t believe the stories, and are completely uninterested.

They’ll never know what they missed Doc. Mind you, its not surprising is it. I mean, those were wild times. It’s quite amazing that so many of us got through it unscathed. What a blockbuster movie it would make.
    Probably x-rated at best.

Problem with many of the younger generation now is the mobile phone.
Unless it is on one of the media platforms such as fake book they are not interested.
