Two seperate entities FG RA the articles lasted for 6 months and didn’t have to be closed within that period if returned to UK or home trade limits .FG any return to UK from foreign the Articles had to be closed , JS.

Esso were very helpful in that they used a stamp for the entry that reads "Foreign Going Running Agreement".

#22 Its a perfectly correct agreement. As said. You come back to the uk after 3 months and as long as you give in 72 hours of notice , then off you go on arrival, after 6 months those same articles have to be closed ., and re- opened if necessary for the same agreement to be continued. on regular runners and short sea traders were ideal for all parties. when I left British ships the use of shipping masters and offices had been discontinued and any necessary paying and signing off/on was done by ships staff. Or in the shipowners office ashore. JS
